UA briefing: Higher education reform

On 4 November 2024, the Secretary of State for Education made a statement to the House of Commons outlining plans for an inflationary increase in higher education tuition fees and student maintenance loans.  

In the same statement, she set out her priorities for higher education reform. These were reiterated in a letter to the sector sent the same day.

University Alliance and our member universities support the government’s priorities, and they closely align with our own. This briefing sets out what is already being done by professional and technical universities in these areas and practical solutions that would enable us to do more.
