UA’s Doctoral Training Alliance (DTA) is piloting a new ‘Legacy Fund’ – which will provide DTA3 alum with the opportunity to undertake an international placement.
The DTA3 Legacy Fund is for DTA3 fellows following graduation from their doctoral studies. The fund will enable a 1-to-2-month international placement, in which they will explore challenges facing UK society and identify potential solutions.
The proposed solutions must be scalable, sustainable and include a non-academic partner (such as a business, government agency, NGO, or a hospital). Candidates are invited to submit a proposal under themes such as ‘Creative arts, children and young people, climate change active ageing, resilient economies and communities, and technology for all.’
Jennie Eldridge, Head of Doctoral Training at University Alliance said: “We are delighted to pilot the DTA3 Legacy Fund, which presents an amazing opportunity for research: it will facilitate successful fellows in finding solutions to big societal challenges facing the UK. By learning from practice in another country, successful applicants will eventually apply their learnings to UK society. The fund will help us expand on the existing that are already available to our global network of DTA alumni”
Candidates have until 31 October 2024 to apply for the fund.
