Robert Gordon University joins the University Alliance

University Alliance (UA) has today (11 May January 2022) announced that Robert Gordon University has officially joined the mission group as its fifteenth member.

University Alliance represents the country’s leading technical and professional universities. Alliance universities are known for their innovation across applied research and skills-based teaching, as well as their close ties with industry and their local communities.

Vanessa Wilson, University Alliance CEO said:

“We are thrilled to welcome Robert Gordon University to University Alliance. The university’s mission is closely aligned with that of the Alliance. It has a long history of working with industry and is recognised as one of Scotland’s top universities for teaching and student experience, as well as being a go-to choice for employers.

University Alliance is committed to bringing Alliance universities together to continue strengthening our collective reputation and impact. Alliance universities are delivering the applied research and teaching that will deliver the skills and knowledge needed to power the UK’s future. As the country moves forward to deliver the levelling up agenda and an ambitious new Lifelong Loan Entitlement, Alliance Universities will have an increasingly important role to play.”

Professor Steve Olivier, Vice-Chancellor of Robert Gordon University said:

“As a professionally focused University, we work closely with employers and industry to collaborate on developing curriculum and delivering skills-led learning and applied research to shape economic, social and cultural development and environmental sustainability. The goals and ambitions of the University Alliance align well with our own.

“The Alliance is a strong and influential voice for universities like Robert Gordon University, and plays an essential convening role, bringing together universities with common values and ambitions to deliver impact as a collective. I look forward to working closely with fellow members of the Alliance, and the Alliance team, as we deliver on our ambitions for the future.”
