A Changed World invites the University of Hertfordshire’s community – both students and staff – to share and showcase their academic and creative activity relating to the COVID-19 lockdown and current global pandemic. It enables a university-wide discussion about our personal and professional shared experiences during these challenging times.
Its inclusive approach has provided a safe and innovative way of recognising and celebrating the breadth and diversity of the unviersity’s community’s achievements and providing a platform for supporting each other in the challenges they may be experiencing. It has encouraged the community to be creative, inventive and collaborative with their submissions.
A Changed World University-Wide Make-Along:
- To complement the project, the university organised a very successful online teaching and learning event: A Changed World University-Wide Make-Along, with an open invitation to the entire extended Herts community, including UH students from FE and overseas partners.
- Experts in creative writing, communication, art, and media led interactive beginners’ sessions in creative arts. Crafting together in real time, the project connected virtually in a positive and supportive environment, enjoying moments of pride in their own and others’ creativity.
Commenting on the event, Project Coordinator for A Changed World Joanna Ahlberg said:
“We made friends, reflected on the good work we’ve done, and reinforced our commitment to our shared goals and values. It was a truly inspirational event, and the intellectual and creative submissions we’ve received so far have been outstanding. “
