Prof John Latham announced as new University Alliance Deputy Chair

Professor John Latham, Vice-Chancellor of Coventry University, has been elected as the new Deputy Chair of University Alliance.

Professor Latham will take up the three-year position on 1 January 2016, succeeding Professor Mary Stuart, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lincoln, who has performed the role since 2012.

Steve West, Vice Chancellor of the University of the West of England and Chair of University Alliance, said:

“I am delighted that John will be the new Deputy Chair of University Alliance.

“John leads a fantastic university that epitomises the University Alliance values of innovation and enterprise.  Coventry was recently named University of the Year at the Times Higher Education Awards.  We look forward to him bringing his leadership skills to University Alliance.

“I would like to thank Mary for the invaluable contribution she has made during her time as Deputy Chair – she leaves a strong legacy which we will be building on in the coming months and years.”

Professor John Latham said:
